Accessibility statement

This statement applies to the Leaflet Desk studio (leafletdesk.com) and to the e-leaflet pages patients open from an email or a QR code. Leaflet Desk is provided by Golden Shutter Ltd.

Using Leaflet Desk

We want as many people as possible to be able to use Leaflet Desk. For example, you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • get around most of the studio using just a keyboard
  • use most of the studio with a screen reader
  • on an e-leaflet: make the text bigger, have it read aloud, and stop movement

E-leaflets also honour your device's "reduce motion" setting, use plain English, and keep the "when to get help" screen still, with large call buttons.

How accessible this service is

We know some parts are not fully accessible yet:

  • The page editor uses drag and drop to move and resize boxes. Most changes can also be made with the style panel, but not every layout task has a keyboard-only alternative yet.
  • Some animated drawings in e-leaflets have short descriptions that may not cover every detail.
  • Printed PDFs are designed for print. They are not yet tagged for screen readers. A large-print version can be made for any leaflet.
  • Some colour combinations a centre picks for its own leaflets may not meet contrast guidelines. The leaflet check warns about these.

Feedback and contact information

If you need information on this website in a different format, such as large print, easy read, audio or braille, contact rodnieoro@gmail.com. We will reply within 10 working days.

If you are a patient and need your leaflet in another format or language, contact the care team who sent it. Their phone number is on the last screen of the e-leaflet.

Reporting accessibility problems with this website

We are always looking to improve. If you find a problem not listed on this page, or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, email rodnieoro@gmail.com. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device and assistive technology you were using.

Enforcement procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Technical information about this website's accessibility

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. Leaflet Desk is used by NHS organisations, which the accessibility regulations cover, so we follow them.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA, because of the issues listed under "How accessible this service is".

Non-accessible content

  • Drag-and-drop layout in the editor without a full keyboard alternative (WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard, 2.5.7 Dragging Movements).
  • Print PDFs are not tagged (WCAG 1.3.1 Info and Relationships) when read on screen.

We are working to fix these issues and will update this statement as each one is fixed.

How we tested this website

This statement was prepared in November 2026 from our own checks during development. An independent audit has not yet been carried out; when one is, we will record its date and method here.
