Educational use only

OR 101 is an educational orientation guide for people training or working in surgical theatres and related healthcare settings. It is not medical advice, not a protocol, not a medical device, and not a substitute for your local policy, training, competency assessment or senior clinical supervision. Always follow your centre's protocols and the instructions of the clinical team you work with.

Licence

Subject to these terms and the terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play (as applicable), we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control. You must not reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell, or misrepresent the app as clinical software, a medical device, or an official hospital protocol.

All guides, diagrams, animations, quiz content, trademarks and other materials in the app remain the intellectual property of Golden Shutter Ltd (or its licensors). You may not copy them out of the app for commercial use without permission.

Free trial and purchases

OR 101 includes a 7-day free trial, started and tracked by the app on your device. When the trial ends, continued access to Pro features requires a purchase:

  • Yearly: £9.99 per year, an auto-renewing subscription, or
  • Lifetime: £24.99, a one-time unlock.

Prices are shown in the store listing and in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by country or currency.

Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us. Payment, tax, renewal, cancellation and refunds are handled under Apple's or Google's terms and policies. We never see your full payment card details.

  • Cancel a yearly subscription: use your Apple ID subscription settings, or Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, before the renewal date.
  • Restore: use Restore Purchases in the app if you reinstall or change device while signed in to the same store account.
  • Refunds: request them from Apple or Google under their refund rules. We cannot process store refunds ourselves.

Content accuracy and limitation of liability

Guides and diagrams are written in good faith for orientation. Theatre practice, kit and local pathways change. We do not warrant that every detail is complete, current or appropriate for your centre.

To the fullest extent permitted by the law of England and Wales, Golden Shutter Ltd and its directors are not liable for any loss, injury or clinical decision arising from use of (or reliance on) the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).

Privacy

How the app handles information is described in the OR 101 Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer in another country you may also have rights to bring claims in your local courts.

Changes

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
